What is Father's Day?

Father's Day falls on the third Sunday in June in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland and many other countries, putting it between the 15th and the 21st. It started in Spokane, Washington in 1910 and took until 1972 to become a permanent American holiday, decades after Mother's Day. Plenty of countries use different dates, including Australia in September and much of Catholic Europe on St Joseph's Day in March. This countdown uses the June rule.
