Privacy Policy

The personal task lists, focus history, habit trackers, planners, notes, settings and favourites use your browser's localStorage for saved work. These personal tools do not upload that work to our server. Other tools, such as the date calculators, hold inputs only while the page is open. Shared team rooms send data to a server, as described below. None of these tools requires a user account.

Clearing site data deletes locally saved work, and private browsing usually discards it when the private session ends. Switching devices or browsers does not transfer that work; it remains in the original browser unless cleared. We have no server copy to restore. Export or copy anything you need to keep.

localStorage is not automatically attached to requests as cookies are. Site code can read it, and collaboration tools send their locally stored participant identifiers when joining a room. Storing something locally does not by itself mean it is never transmitted.

Planning poker, the retro board, the meeting time poll, the shared timer, mood check, lean coffee, async standup and affinity sizing all send what participants type to a server so that other people in the room can see it. That server is a Cloudflare Durable Object holding the state of that one room.

Room data includes shared text, votes or timer settings as appropriate, chosen display names and avatars, generated participant identifiers, and activity timestamps. These identifiers help associate a participant with their contributions; they are not accounts.

Automatic deletion is scheduled for two hours after the last saved activity for most rooms, 14 days for async standup boards, and 30 days for meeting polls. A saved update restarts that window, so an actively used room can last longer. Expiry deletes the stored room state and closes its connections. Async standup also prunes dated entries outside its recent history window when processing updates (about seven days, allowing for participants' different local dates). These are application retention rules, separate from the host's processing of request logs.

Anyone with the room link can join and read what is in the room. Treat a room as a public whiteboard rather than a private channel, and do not put confidential or personal information in one.

The weather page fetches a forecast from the Open-Meteo API through this site's own /api/weather endpoint. The coordinates of the city you selected are sent to Open-Meteo so it can return a forecast for that place. No identifier for you is attached to that request.

ChronoClock runs on Cloudflare Workers. As part of serving and protecting the site, Cloudflare processes ordinary request data, which includes IP addresses. This is the normal operation of a web host and applies to every request to any website served this way. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in its privacy policy. We keep no request logs of our own; Cloudflare's retention of its logs is as described in that policy.

If a security breach of data this site holds creates a real risk of significant harm, we will report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and post a notice on this page.

This site sets no tracking cookies of its own. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no advertising or tracking pixel of ours on any page. Your theme choice, tool settings and personal saved work are kept in localStorage. Collaboration identifiers and shared room data are handled as described above.

One measurement script does run: Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, adds static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js to pages it serves to browsers, and that script posts page views and page-speed measurements back to this domain. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you to other sites. We see only aggregate figures in the Cloudflare dashboard, and nothing there identifies a visitor. Cloudflare is the processor for that measurement data, under the Cloudflare privacy policy linked in the section above.

Cloudflare may set cookies that are necessary for security and for serving the site. Advertising cookies are covered in the next section.

ChronoClock intends to display advertising from Google AdSense. Advertising is not live on the site yet, and no advertising consent interface is currently installed. Before enabling ads, we will update this policy for the actual setup and provide any required consent controls. The following describes the intended advertising data use:

• When ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may receive page URLs, IP addresses, browser or device information and other identifiers, and may place or read cookies or use web beacons. This data can support ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, depending on consent and settings, personalisation.
• When ads are enabled: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• When ads are enabled: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• When ads are enabled: Google may allow third-party vendors and ad networks it has certified to serve ads through AdSense. Google lists them on its certified ad vendors page, and you can opt out of their use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
• Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• Users may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
• Users in the European Union and the United Kingdom may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services. Opting out of personalised ads does not necessarily stop processing for purposes such as ad measurement and fraud prevention. Personal tool inputs and team-room contents are never sent to advertising vendors. When ads are enabled, the ad script on pages with ads will receive the page URL, your IP address, and device and browser information.

The guides and tool pages link to research papers, reference sites and other external pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them. Once you follow a link, you are subject to whatever that site does.

ChronoClock is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Shared rooms and hosting requests can include personal data as described above. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact the address below so we can review the request.

ChronoClock is operated by Paulo Henrique, an individual based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who is the controller for the personal data the site itself processes: the data in shared team rooms and the emails you send. Contact the operator at contact@chronoclock.app.

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes request data as its host, as described above. If ads are enabled, Google will act as an independent controller for the personal data it processes to show ads on this site, as described in its own policies.

Cloudflare and, if ads are enabled, Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States and in Canada, where the operator is based. They rely on their own safeguards for these transfers, which are described in their privacy policies.

Deleting what the site has saved

Clearing site data for this domain removes locally saved work and preferences. It does not delete content already sent to a shared room or records held by the host. Many tools also have their own reset or clear controls, which remove just that tool's data and leave the rest alone.

Requests to the operator

We cannot export or restore the personal work held only in your browser. For questions or requests about shared-room data or information you have sent to us, contact the address below. Room expiry follows the inactivity windows above; it does not erase copies that another participant may have made.

Your legal rights

Because the operator is in Alberta, Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act apply to how the site handles personal information, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR, or under US state privacy laws, you may also have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email contact@chronoclock.app. The site has no accounts, and the operator cannot see or identify data held only in your browser, so requests can only cover shared-room data and messages you have sent.

Running shared rooms and answering your emails rely on providing the service you asked for. Keeping the site secure, and keeping a record of correspondence, rely on our legitimate interest in running the site reliably and answering the people who use it. If ads are enabled, advertising personalisation will rely on your consent where the law requires it.

Advertising choices

No advertising consent choice is needed on this site at present because ads are not enabled. The links above let you manage vendor-level advertising preferences. They do not replace any consent controls needed when ads launch here. Browser settings can restrict cookies, while clearing all site storage also deletes saved personal work.

If the way this site handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes, such as adding analytics or a new third-party service, will be described here rather than quietly folded in.

Email to contact@chronoclock.app is delivered by Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox hosted by Google, where the operator reads and answers it. Your address and the contents of your message are kept while they are useful for answering you and are deleted within twelve months unless there is a continuing reason to keep them, such as an open correction to a guide. Those messages are separate from the browser storage and shared-room expiry rules described above.
