Privacy Policy

This is the part that matters most, so it comes first. Your tasks, focus sessions, habits, planners, notes, settings and favourites are saved in your own browser using localStorage. That data is not sent to a server. There are no user accounts, nothing to sign up for, and no way for the operator of this site to see what you have written in any tool.

Two consequences follow from that, and both are real. If you clear your browser data, use private browsing, or switch browsers or devices, the data is gone and cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. And nothing syncs: what you enter on your laptop will not appear on your phone. If something matters, export or copy it somewhere you control.

localStorage is not a cookie. It is not attached to network requests and is not transmitted to this site or to anyone else when you load a page.

The real-time collaboration tools are different, and it would be dishonest to describe them the same way. Planning poker, the retro board, the meeting time poll, the shared timer, mood check, lean coffee, async standup and affinity sizing all send what participants type to a server so that other people in the room can see it. That server is a Cloudflare Durable Object holding the state of that one room.

Room state is ephemeral and is deleted automatically after a period of inactivity: roughly two hours for most rooms, up to 14 days for the async standup board, and about 30 days for meeting polls. There are still no accounts. The display name and the avatar a participant chooses when joining are the only identity involved, and you can type anything you like there.

Anyone with the room link can join and read what is in the room. Treat a room as a public whiteboard rather than a private channel, and do not put confidential or personal information in one.

The weather page fetches a forecast from the Open-Meteo API through this site's own /api/weather endpoint. The coordinates of the city you selected are sent to Open-Meteo so it can return a forecast for that place. No identifier for you is attached to that request.

ChronoClock runs on Cloudflare Workers. As part of serving and protecting the site, Cloudflare processes ordinary request data, which includes IP addresses. This is the normal operation of a web host and applies to every request to any website served this way. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in its privacy policy.

This site sets no tracking cookies of its own, and there is currently no analytics script, tag manager or tracking pixel on any page. Your theme choice, tool settings and saved work are kept in localStorage, which, as noted above, is not a cookie and is not sent anywhere.

Cloudflare may set cookies that are necessary for security and for serving the site. Advertising cookies are covered in the next section.

ChronoClock intends to display advertising from Google AdSense. Advertising is not live on the site yet. When it is enabled, the following applies:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• Users may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

More detail on how Google uses cookies in advertising is available in Google's advertising technologies notice. Advertising cookies are set by the ad vendor and are separate from anything this site stores in your browser. Your tasks, notes and other saved work are not shared with advertisers, because they never leave your browser in the first place.

The guides and tool pages link to research papers, reference sites and other external pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them. Once you follow a link, you are subject to whatever that site does.

ChronoClock is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the site has no accounts and stores personal productivity data only in the visitor's own browser, there is generally no personal information collected from any visitor to begin with.

Deleting what the site has saved

Because everything personal lives in your browser, you control it directly. Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes all of it permanently. Many tools also have their own reset or clear controls, which remove just that tool's data and leave the rest alone.

Requests to the operator

There is no account and no server-side copy of your productivity data, so there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Team room contents are the only thing held on a server, and those expire on their own within the periods listed above.

Advertising choices

The opt-out links in the advertising section are the way to control personalised ads. Browser-level settings that block third-party cookies also work, and will not affect anything the site itself stores.

If the way this site handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes, such as adding analytics or a new third-party service, will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
